Born and raised in Santa Barbara, Rubi began her career in early education before transitioning to the nonprofit sector. She holds a B.A. in Sociology with a minor in Criminal Justice from San Francisco State University and has worked in both the Carpinteria and San Francisco Unified School Districts.
Her nonprofit work includes supporting low-income families and seniors at St. Vincent’s and helping students access financial aid at the Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara. A 2018 alum of Emerging Leaders Program, Rubi now serves as Operations Director, supporting local leadership and community development. She’s also raising three young children and homeschooling her family.
