Week Two

Dear Fellows –
How can you not get excited about kicking off your week with a Yoda quote!

Starting with David Brooks and “The Moral Bucket List” last week, Carrie/I are going to provide a weekly email every Tuesday with a specific activity to prepare you for our May 15th workshop.

I hope the article by David Brooks has sparked some reflection about your “eulogy virtues” and your calling.

In the weeks leading up to our workshop, the weekly assignments will help you be better prepared to develop a personal action plan that will help you to make a real difference in our community.

Last week we asked to follow through on sending 3-5 thank you cards to practice gratitude. We hope this was an energy-inducing activity for you and that you’ve gotten some good feedback from your outpouring of gratitude!

This week, we want you to complete “a five-minute life hack to finding your life’s work” from Live Your Legend.

As Yoda suggests, please don’t “try” to make the time to do the exercises we provide. Just do it!

Jim

This week, we want you to complete “a five-minute life hack to finding your life’s work” from Live Your Legend. You can see the process and questions here.

As the blog suggests, pick five people close to you (your spouse, lifelong friend, co-workers, someone from your project group, a mentor from some area of your life, parent, volunteer friend, sibling, etc.). Work to get a good cross-section of folks who see you through different “lenses”.

This is really a five-minute hack. We’ve tried to make it easy by attaching a template e-mail for you to cut/paste… customize it as you see fit to help you better understand your strengths and passions.

Take five minutes to get priceless insight of how others see you and how you can impact the world. Keep their answers in a folder that you can bring to the workshop on May 15th.
