Come, let’s gather from all CTL Alumni cohorts for a morning hike in the beautiful Santa Barbara foothills
– with options for varied levels of hiking and endurance

Our initial Courage to Lead retreats centered time, journaling, and observations in nature. Through city living and demanding pandemic times, we may live at a distance from the natural world and our inner nature too.
These two landscapes have much in common and inform each other.
“The natural world desperately needs people who appreciate it, have reverence for it, listen to it, preserve, and restore it. With the same urgency, so does the soul need this kind of attunement and nurturance.
Cut off from the land, we lose our sense of place, grounding, our sense of home and belonging on this earth; when we are out of touch with our souls our lives become barren, starved at the roots of what deeply animates us.”

Eryn Shugart and Judy Hawkins will host our Courage to Lead alumni – all cohorts – for a short, medium or longer hike.
We invite you to reground connections to one another with possibilities for walk-and-talk, touchstone metaphors, pauses for viewing vistas and welcomed silence.
