Program Coordinator

Samantha was born and raised in Santa Barbara and has been involved with local non-profits since junior high! After graduating from UCSB with a B.A. in Anthropology with emphasis on cultural studies, she has worked with organizations like Partners in Education connecting volunteers with local schools and events like mock job interviews and Career Days; she’s provided higher education accessibility through college financial aid advising at Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara; and has taken students out into local outdoor sites with Wilderness Youth Project to promote nature connection.

Samantha joins us from REACH where she led the organization in creating space for local high school students to gain life skills and resiliency through workshops and outdoor adventures. She hopes to use her “get things done” attitude adopted from her AmeriCorps time to help Leading From Within continue to provide support to local leaders after experiencing first hand the impact Emerging Leader Program had while participating in 2020-2021. Samantha also enjoys being a part of the Transition House Board of Directors dedicated to the solution of family homelessness in the Santa Barbara community

When she is not working she is with her four year old on a hike or at the park and loves cooking a good meal!
